Jared Trey Corkran was born on June 12, 1997 in Lewisville Texas to Scherrie and Tery Corkran.
He weighed 7 pounds and 12 ounces and was 20 inches long.
He was very content since the day he was born; he always seemed very happy and easy to please. He was a very smiley baby and loved to laugh. We could touch him with one finger anywhere and it would tickle him so much.
Jared started walking before he turned a year old and began talking soon after. He has always been advanced but of course he is our only son and we are very biased in our opinion of him.
Jared has always loved all the things that boys typically love. Since he was little he has loved anything camouflage that had to do with the Army. He had a lot of camouflage clothes and carried around a real canteen filled with water for a while and we thought it was the cutest thing. We have taken him several times to the Army/Navy store and he enjoys that very much. His collection of army supplies is large.
The activities that Jared has been involved in are: Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, Kickboxing, hunting, football, swimming, skate boarding, guitar lessons, baseball, snowboarding, and soccer. Jared has been doing martial arts since he was 4 years old and learned it very well even winning tournaments. Jared learned Brazilian Jui-Jitsu under his dad a forth Degree Black belt and is the owner of North Texas Mixed Martial Arts. Jared has mentioned before that he wanted to compete in Mixed Martial Arts competition such as Ultimate Fighting Championships.
Jared’s favorite things to do outside of school are: swimming, play video games, toss the football around, play outside, four-wheelers, laugh with his friends and listen to music. He has very good taste in music and loves classic rock. He can name many old musicians. Some of his favorite bands are AC/DC, The Eagles, Red Hot Chillie Peppers, Lynyrd Skynyrd, and many more.
Jared has two sisters, the oldest is Amanda Miguez Miller and the other is Kimberly Corkran. He has always been the sweetest brother and such a joy to be around. There has been times when Jared liked to scare his sister’s with a fake snake or bug, but that just brought them some laughs. Jared is an uncle to his niece Finley Miller and you wouldn’t believe how great he has been with his niece.
Jared loved to go to our 2nd home in Arkansas. The home is way up in the middle of the Ozark Mountains sitting on 80 acres surrounded by the National Forest. We like to get away from the city when there is a long weekend or in the summer. It is a nice way to spend time together. When we are in Arkansas, Jared likes to hunt, hike up the mountains, ride the four wheelers, practice shooting his bow and arrow since he was about 7 years old. Jared also has a passion and loved target shooting with his dad. He has shot everything from hand guns such as 44 magnums to long range rifles such as 300 mag, AR 15 and AR 10’s.
Jared is just a genuinely nice, sweet, loving, kind, and awesome young man that never got mad at anyone or anything. Jared is the type of person that wants to help people not hurt people and seems to always do the right thing. Jared had so many great friends that he loved and made such a great impact on so many people’s lives. Jared had a fatal accident on a Articat 500 ATV 4 wheeler on November 17, 2012 at our home in Arkansas. Jared will always be loved, missed and never forgotten! He is resting in piece at the “OLD HALL CEMETARY” in Lewisville Texas off McGee lane. Go straight all the way back to the end of the turn around, and to the left side or north side between the two live oak trees.
Note: To all parents please do not let your children ride ATV’s it is not worth the risk. At least govern it down so they cannot go to fast.
